I Fade

I WAS SO YOUNG AND DIDN’T KNOW
HOW CRUEL THE WORLD COULD BE
I TRUSTED THE MAN WHO TOOK MY HAND
AND SAID “WON’T YOU MARRY ME?”

MY MOTHER WAS RIGHT WHEN SHE SAID HE’S BAD
FOR I COULD NOT SEE THE TRUTH
SHE TOLD ME “HE’LL LIE WITH AN EVIL EYE
AND HE’LL STEAL AWAY YOUR YOUTH”

AND NOW I’M DOOMED – TO PLAY THIS ROLE
IN SEARCH OF SOMEONE TO RELEASE MY SOUL
I HAUNT THE HALLS AND WALK THROUGH THE WALLS
SEARCHING FOR A SAVIOUR – UNTIL DAYLIGHT CALLS
THEN I FADE- ONCE AGAIN – I FADE – ONCE AGAIN – I FADE

A YEAR TO THE NIGHT OF OUR WEDDING VOWS
BACK HOME CAME UP A DRUNKEN WRECK
DEMANDING A KISS WITH A VICIOUS HISS
HE HELD ME BY THE NECK

HE’D LOST ALL OUR MONEY GAMBLING
AND WANTED MY MOTHERS CHAIN
BUT WHEN I SAID “NO – YOU’D BETTER GO”
HE STRUCK ME AGAIN AND AGAIN

AND NOW I’M DOOMED – TO PLAY THIS ROLE
IN SEARCH OF SOMEONE TO RELEASE MY SOUL
I HAUNT THE HALLS AND WALK THROUGH THE WALLS
SEARCHING FOR A SAVIOUR – UNTIL DAYLIGHT CALLS
THEN I FADE- ONCE AGAIN – I FADE – ONCE AGAIN – I FADE

I HIT THE FLOOR – DIDN’T MOVE ANY MORE
THE BLOOD RAN FREE- AND LIFE DRAINED FROM ME

SO NOW I’M DOOMED – TO PLAY THIS ROLE
IN SEARCH OF SOMEONE TO RELEASE MY SOUL
I HAUNT THE HALLS AND WALK THROUGH THE WALLS
SEARCHING FOR A SAVIOUR – UNTIL DAYLIGHT CALLS
THEN I FADE- ONCE AGAIN – I FADE – ONCE AGAIN – I FADE
